Program Description
If you’ve got an eye for optometry, you’ve come to the right place. CMU students select a major of their choice while also following a pre-optometry program that prepares them for acceptance to optometry school. At CMU, you’ll receive pre-professional opportunities that include attention, involvement, resources and research. You’ll also have an academic adviser who’s dedicated to students interested in pre-professional programs of study, including pre-optometry.
Put Your Degree to Work
Most optometrists are general practitioners, handling a variety of vision needs. Other optometrists practice in a specialty area such as contact lenses/cornea, geriatrics, pediatrics, vision therapy, ocular disease, sports vision, low-vision/partial sight and head trauma.
