With our fashion design minor, you will create garments that will help inspire new looks in fashion while tailoring your skills for a number of careers in the fashion industry that require knowledge in apparel design and construction, flat pattern textiles and draping. You also can put your designs to the test at Threads, CMU’s student-led fashion show.

- CMU's Makerbot Innovation Center, fully equipped with 3-D printers to add another dimension to your work, is the first of its kind in the Midwest.
- CMU's CAD lab utilizes industry-standardized software, including CAD design and technical design software, 3-D visualization software, a product data management system, color matching software and a variety of web-creation software.
- CMU's textile testing lab offers a variety of textile testing equipment, including several pieces of ASTM- and AATCC-standardized equipment for performance testing.
