You know a top fashion trend when you see one, now learn how to deliver those products and brands to consumers using visual concepts and designs that will shape and influence purchasing decisions. With our visual merchandising minor, you will receive a foundational understanding of the fashion industry and its trends while utilizing cutting-edge industry technologies to learn strategies to develop, deliver and communicate visual concepts for promoting products, services and brands.

Points of Pride

  • CMU's visual merchandising lab is a state-of-the-art facility that allows students to put theory into practice using both fixture and wall merchandise placement and window displays.
  • Students have the opportunity to use innovative technologies like FOIL touchscreen displays, Makerbot 3-D printing, a large format vinyl printer and cutter, and specialized visual merchandising software to help prepare them for 21st century jobs in fashion merchandising.

Pair CMU's visual merchandising minor with a major in public relations, advertising, marketing, event management or art to gain a full spectrum of knowledge of the business side of fashion.
