CMU residence halls are more than a place to unpack your bags. Your home away from home is the starting point for you and your fellow Chips to discover campus and your futures, all in an engaging and supportive environment.
Our 22 residence halls have modern features such as media centers and computer labs, changeable room and loft arrangements, and study lounges. They have Internet access, convenient laundry, clean baths and, in some cases, kitchenettes.
Many halls have fitness facilities and dining options that rival hotel chains. They provide access for students of all abilities, and best of all, they’re close to classes, sports and events.
Into music? Hang with future symphonists and jazz impresarios in Herrig Hall. Consider “Larzy” on north campus to study with other honors students. You even can choose residential colleges or theme halls in our
living and learning communities. If you seek interaction with future health care practitioners, engineers, entrepreneurs and other future leaders, CMU has a community for you.
National studies show residence hall students have higher GPAs.
