Our honors scholars are academic leaders with limitless potential. The CMU Honors Program is a community of students committed to their academics, intellectual engagement and social responsibility. Join them and aim higher with unique educational experience and opportunities. Scholarship includes admission into the Honors Program. Renewable for up to four years.

Apply for Centralis

  • Two award levels:
    • Centralis Scholar – 100% of tuition and fees (up to 33 credits per academic year), room and board, and a one-time $5,000 award for a study away experience
    • Centralis Gold – 100% of tuition (up to 33 credits per academic year) and a one-time $5,000 award for a study away experience
  • Minimum GPA required for consideration: 3.7
  • Or meet the alternate criteria
  • This year, we are not requiring an ACT or SAT score.

Multicultural Advancement Scholarships

Diverse viewpoints make us stronger. You’ve proven that with your efforts in helping advance underrepresented groups. We want to see you do the same here. One application can earn you one of the three scholarships. Students with completed applications for admission by Dec. 1 are eligible for a merit award, which can be stacked with the Advancement and Cofer scholarships. All are renewable for up to four years.

Apply for MAC

  • Multicultural Award of Distinction Scholarship: 100% of tuition and fees (up to 33 credits per academic year), room and board, and a one-time $5,000 award for a study away experience
  • Multicultural Advancement Scholarship: $4,125 per year, plus a one-time $5,000 award for a study away experience
  • Lloyd M. Cofer Scholarship: $4,125 per year, plus a one-time $5,000 award for a study away experience
  • Incoming freshmen committed to enhancing diversity and inclusion in their communities
  • Lloyd M. Cofer Scholarship supports graduates from Detroit Public Schools

  • Have a completed FAFSA on file with CMU*

Leader Advancement Scholarship

You’re a leader, whether that’s out front or behind the scenes. Your commitment to bettering yourself as well as others is worth rewarding. We’d love to see you bring that Fired Up attitude here, where you can continue to use your voice for yourself, for others, and for what’s right. Students with completed applications for admission by Dec. 1 are eligible for a merit award, which can be stacked with Leader Advancement Scholarship. Renewable for up to four years.

  • $8,000 over four years
  • Incoming freshmen who have distinguished themselves through a record of leadership and service
  • 3.0 GPA
  • Online application
  • Must have completed application for admission to CMU
  • Have a completed FAFSA on file with CMU*
  • Jan. 15, 2021
