Honors students want more than tough classes and good grades, although that’s clearly part of the equation.
They’re also inherently drawn to lively and challenging discussions with top CMU faculty and diverse peers.
They have a passion for research, creative projects, study abroad and volunteerism. They embrace global citizenship, driven to contribute to the greater good of our society and world.
And they find their “home” in CMU’s Honors Program, where they join a tight-knit community, aiming higher and achieving more … meaningfully.
Average credentials for the fall 2012 first-year class of Honors students were a 29 ACT and 3.93 GPA.
At CMU, that kind of academic excellence is rewarded with scholarships and awards for studying abroad. In fact, we’re revising our scholarships this fall to give larger awards to even more students. Stay tuned for more info in the coming months!
CMU Honors alumni are NASA engineers, Grammy Award-winning artists (Andrew Dost of Fun.!), nationally recognized teachers, ambassadors, CEOs, surgeons and physicians, policymakers … and more!
