Finding a greater sense of purpose is easy at CMU.

Each year, more than 12,000 students start at the Volunteer Center to join efforts ranging from helping the elderly to aiding in hurricane relief.

  • Lunch Buddies matches you and other mentors with area school children to promote education, fitness and well-being.
  • The David Garcia Project inspires students to advocate for others with physical limitations.
  • In an Alternative Break, you help communities in need during holiday breaks, summer vacation or between semesters.

Other opportunities include Adopt-A-Grandparent, America Reads, Habitat for Humanity, and Public Service Residential Community. Search our online database, and mark Issue Day, Valentines for Veterans, and Be My Neighbor Day on your calendar.

Make a difference. Build character. Be a leader. Volunteer through CMU.

"The Alternative Break program through the Volunteer Center at CMU has allowed me to experience something that I could have never done on my own. I appreciate CMU and my site leaders for providing me with such a rewarding experience — it is something that I will never forget!"
